New Patients

Your first visit will consist of a cleaning with our dental hygienist and/or a complete dental and x-ray examination with Dr. Thompson. Our focus is on getting a complete picture of your dental health, defining your personal goals for your teeth, and putting together a treatment plan. Dr. Thompson will develop a customized treatment plan and explain your treatment options.


You can assist us by having the following information ready at the time of your first visit:



IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 at the time of their visit. Please alert our office if you have any medical conditions that may be of concern prior to dental treatment (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e antibiotics).


• Information about existing medical conditions and/or medication

• Information about your dental insurance in order to help us quickly process and file your insurance information


We look forward to scheduling your appointment at Dr. William H. Thompson, DDS. We will always make every attempt to schedule your appointment promptly. If you have an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you as soon as possible. Ours hours are as follows:



Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm

The first Friday of each month: 8:30am – 12:30pm




At William H. Thompson, DDS we accept a wide variety of insurance for your convenience. We are happy to file and process claims for most insurance companies on your behalf. If you have any questions about a specific insurance carrier please call our office at (828)-286-4371.


For your convenience, we accept cash, personal checks, money orders and Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Payment is expected at the time services are rendered.
